Unfortunately, cloth diapers are not readily available in common retail chains like DM, Rossmann, Edeka, or Kaufland. Since it's particularly important to handle and understand cloth diaper systems before buying them, we've compiled a short list of places where you can purchase them.
Buy cloth diapers online
The internet is an obvious place to buy cloth diapers. Not only can you buy different cloth diapers on the manufacturers' websites, but also in dedicated online shops for cloth diapers.

However, since these small shops usually have a limited selection—unless they are dedicated cloth diaper stores—the internet is unfortunately the best place to start.
Buy cloth diapers from midwives or cloth diaper consultants, or get advice on them.
Some midwives and cloth diaper consultants offer selected cloth diapers for sale – either because they have their own shops or because they want to offer them as an additional service. The advantage here is that cloth diaper consultants, in particular, are very familiar with the breadth of the cloth diaper market and can therefore provide a good assessment of the right cloth diaper for a child.
Overall, it's unfortunately still very difficult to buy cloth diapers without problems. We're working hard to change that, but until then, consultants and the internet are excellent resources.
